How to Install a 16-kW Ground Mount Solar System

How to install a 16-kW ground mount solar system:

Last week EmPower installed a 16-kW ground mount solar system in Woodbury, NY.  The enthusiastic residential owners of this system have another roof mount system in the pipes, but the ground mount was the first to be installed.

Step 1: Pour concrete footings.

Step 2: After cement is cured, construct racking system.  Bolt racking to concrete footings.

Step 3: Do trenching to run conduit from the solar system to the home (or point of electrical interconnection).  In this case, about 325 feet.

Step 4: Mount panels.

Step 5: Mount inverters, do AC interconnection work, and install data monitoring.
