INVERTER RECALL: NON-ISSUE FOR EMPOWERED CLIENTS
Last week LIPA sent a letter to all solar owners on Long Island about a Schneider Electric inverter recall that impacted products under the brand names Xantrex GT, SunPower, and General Electric.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY EMPOWER
Rest assured the inverter(s) that EmPower installed at your home or business is in great shape. The recalled inverters are made by a company called Xantrex that was recently acquired by Schneider Electric. While Xantrex was once a market leader, EmPower had several bad experiences with them between 2005 and 2007 and has since never used them.
Please know that you would certainly receive notice from us right away if a product recall affected your system.
Of course, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Thank you as always for your commitment to EmPower and to solar energy.
We are honored to have you as our client.

Act Now – LIPA Rebate Funds are Running Out!
If you are at all considering going solar, you don’t want to miss out on the fleeting opportunity to have up to 35% of your solar electric system paid for by LIPA.
The current rebate is $2.00/watt (up to 10KW) for a residential solar electric system. That means LIPA will potentially pay up to $20,000 of the system cost! However, it is possible that the LIPA Rebate will run out in the next two weeks and there are no guarantees that rebates will be available in the future.
The chart below was taken from the LIPA webpage:

This graph shows that as of August 6, 2010 the Solar Pioneer Rebate (which is the Residential program) is almost gone. There are only 200 KW left for the year – that’s only 20 residential systems for all LIPA customers! Just to give you some more insight, in the last three weeks the block went from 500KW to 800KW. Within the next couple of weeks, the Solar Electric Rebate will likely disappear for the rest of the year.

If you would like to proceed with a solar electric system, there’s no time to waste if you want to secure these rebates. Please call our Sales Manager, Joe Cordes, at your earliest convenience at 516-286-1477 and we can get you started. We will have to submit your Rebate Application before they close the program for new applicants!
Invest with confidence. Act now.
“EmPower” Yourself
People try to convince Sal that if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. However, Sal reassures them that it is that good; solar really is a “no brainer.” This is not the Sal you might have read about in our case studies, but his cousin, Sal Agricola. EmPower was excited to install a system at the Agricolas because it is one of the few solar systems in Lynbrook. The Architectural Review Board was intrigued when Sal and Ramona came to explain their system. After asking many questions about solar, Sal recalls, “Then they got into it [and asked], do you have any business cards?”
The Agricolas are incredible solar advocates. They knew they were hooked on solar when Ramona started creating solar slogans. Here is her great motto that holds a very powerful message:
Save a tree, recycle paper.
Save the planet, recycle energy!
Be a part of the solution, become independent.
“EmPower” yourself.
We can only hope their messages will inspire other residents in Lynbrook to install solar. Look for a full case study coming soon.
