Solar installations jumped 19% in 2022, totaling 8,111 new systems being installed across Long Island. Nationally, solar installations dropped 16% last year.
David Schieren, CEO of EmPower Solar and board president of NYSEIA, notes that 2023 could be a landmark growth year for solar. Schieren notes that supply constraints that affected the industry have eased, and and concerns about LIPA time of day rates are being resolved. This could lead to more installs being completed this year.
